A World of Pain

I’m putting up a quick update from the USF library. I had my appointment with my sinus doctor, as usual, but today was not a usual visit. Today he planned an in-office surgery.

I’ve had 6 (or is it 7?) sinus surgeries under general anesthesia. The last one was about 4 years ago, but apparently my deviated septum was touching another wall of my sinus when it was healing. The result is a scar band that makes it painful, and almost impossible for the doctor to do his maintenance during my monthly visits.

Today, he snipped the scar band under local anesthesia.

Now, it hurts like heck! I’ve arrived at Vicodin Land… we’ll see how I last.

I have another 20 pages of the Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde to read before class, so I’m going to log off the computer and get to work.
