Barack Obama, I Call Thee Nicolae Carpathia

Posted on Jul 29 2008 | By Jesse Petersen

Obama with a ridiculous haloI’ve been holding my tongue for months, but the media just keeps drawing too much attention to intangibles that he has yet to deserve as a junior member of the Senate with a piss-poor hardline liberal/socialist voting record, unethical real-estate deals, and a 20-year relationship with his Farrakhan-worshipping pastor. He has outlined how many taxes he wants to raise, programs that need to be funded with taxpayer money, and said that he both wants to socialize healthcare and will dismantle the entire nuclear program.

Think I’m pulling this out of my butt?

Check out how closely this egotism and propaganda mirrors that of Nicolae Carpathia from the Left Behind series: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicolae_Carpathia.

As for the media support, I can’t do much better than let you see all of the depictions of Obama with a halo-like appearance: http://www.centerforinquiry.net/forums.

Oh, and you do realize that he doesn’t write those speeches that everyone (read stupid people, celebrities, and straight-line liberal/marxist/socialist whackjobs, and naive/historically uneducated young people) is so moved by? Those are created by people called “speechwriters,” who are professionally trained and tested political writers of moving prose. Barack does not have the command of history of global politics to attempt to pull off his speeches’ content himself, that much you can be guaranteed.

Jon Voight wrote one of the best historical/social pieces I’ve seen thus far in today’s Washington Post.

It’s time the world stops thinking he is the answer to all the world’s problems, too. Seriously, 250,000 Germans chanting for change when a JUNIOR senator from the U S of A comes to give a speech!? They can’t change a darn thing unless they all become American citizens in time to vote. Get a grip people and think.

His “World Tour” is nothing more than a public display that is will not be satisfied to be ruler of the US, but his need to rule the world. US presidents aren’t supposed to give a darn about the world community’s public opinion about our national security policies, social programs (remind me how many BILLIONS of dollars we’ve sent to Africa for Aids because they won’t stop boinking everyone’s wives when the men are at the diamond mines… right, we’re so selfish here). And how many social programs are we still supporting for beggars wanting more in our country? How about we take care of ourselves if you are such a bleeding-heart liberal and can see poverty in your own capitol cities a mile from state representatives?

When was the last time the world community came to our aid!? The Iowa floods? Katrina? The Florida hurricanes of 2 years ago? No? Screw them. We are the USA, and we don’t need them, so get your butt back over here and convince ME that you are a man. We send reporters over to talk to Iran, senators to talk to Libya, and have a rampant ex-president with his head so far up his rear he doesn’t know he’s washed up. Remember the inflation rates and terrorism issues in the 70s? I don’t, but I can read history books.

I digress…

Now, I won’t quite go as far as to say Barack Obama the anti-christ, but if he’s elected, dies, and is resurrected, then I guess we have more things to be concerned with than high gas prices.

Wow, Jesse, that is both compelling and passionate! I love it!!!

2

Ouch! Tell us how you really feel.

3

@Joyce: Thanks. A certain person in Texas said he was laughing the whole time reading it… I said that the stuff was funny but true - no argument about that.

@ML: Maybe some day. Maybe some day.

4

Nice Jesse.

And, of course the 250,000 Germans were only there to see the top two bands in Germany playing before he was there. ;-)

[...] If you’re new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting! Not that I’m a fan of McCain, especially with his pandering to the global warming activists, ideas for amnesty, and a litany of dealing with “the other side” when there is no need to, he sure is a better choice than the Obama-man: Nicolae Carpathia. [...]

Um, you do know that Nicolae Carpathia is a fictional portrayal of the Antichrist right? As in, written by a person, for popular fiction? As in, not real?

Come on, it’s foolish speculation like this that makes people think that us Christians are stupid and bigoted.

Also, he writes most of his own speeches. Jon Favreau writes some of them, but the vast majority, and all of the speeches he is best known for, he wrote himself.

Yes, the media loves him. And the world loves him. It’s foolish to think that he can fix everything, that’s definitely true. The next eight years are going to be rough for our country, no matter who gets elected. Not even the most brilliant team of economists given absolute power could fix our tanked economy in a short amount of time. But Republican or Democrat, you have to admit that the last administration has failed the American people on a lot of levels. So of course people want someone new! Of course people want someone who gives them hope!

And McCain, who I do admire and have always liked, is unfortunately a part of the same group of people who really trashed and divided our country over the past eight years.

Obama is no Antichrist. Inexperienced, yes. Young, yes. A good man? Definitely. He is new, and different, and of course people pin their hopes on him. His charisma and intellect have definitely helped him, but that doesn’t make him the damn AntiChrist. Come on. You want a demon, why don’t you look at Karl Rove, who laughingly uses our Faith to manipulate us, to trick us. It’s disgusting, and tragic.

I’m not trying to call anyone here stupid, or insult anyone. I really don’t mean offense. It’s just that I think we all need to take a good hard look at our own thoughts and beliefs from time to time, and make sure that we’re on the right track.

7

No one is saying he’s the Antichrist… I specifically said he’s not, but it gets people thinking and discussing the issues that go into a candidacy.

I heard an interview yesterday from an ex-CIA agent who said matter-of-factly that if someone was being as evasive with simple questions such as relationships with shady characters as Obama has been, they would not be considered for security clearance… and he would be in charge of the military.

This is a big post of: “I’m just saying…”

I had an excellent discussion start via e-mail between me and a local liberal over this post, and I think we will be able to hear each other out without everyone’s panties getting in a bunch.

And for all of the comments of lesser value than this thoughtful one that I deleted, yes, I know Carpathia is fictional and the Left Behind series has not been canonized. The last time I looked, that is just in the title, one sentence, and one link of this reference-laden commentary.

I agree, it’s really important for liberals and conservatives to have an open dialogue, and forums like this are a good place for it. I think the biggest current problem with our country is that everyone demonizes everyone, and nobody listens to anybody but those with the same exact political views as their own. Both sides have merit, and by having a dialogue and actually listening to each other, we’re all better for it.

9

I love it! I think the same!

After last nights debate between McCain and Obama… I wandered to the bedroom and grabbed “Left Behind” off the book shelf… I hadn’t touched it for years…

The similarities go on and on…
* Came from nowhere
* Was built up on financing of OTHER influential people (we could tie in Stonagal with Soros and/or Auchi)
* Wants disarmament (starting with ours but ultimately other nations)
* Tied in with influential non-politicians in the world
* Goes from lower house (senate) to President (to be seen but looks entirely possible)
*Rumors of ruthless deals with competition in his past

And, the list goes on and on… It’s sickening at its worst… But, totally plausible… However - the story is FICTION… And, we are living the Non-fiction… You are so correct… If things continue to pan out… We don’t need to worry about high gas prices… We better each look closely at our own salvations!

11

It’s great to see this! My husband and I have been saying the same things for MONTHS! I read the Left Behind books MANY years ago. This is a scary time in our country. I, like you, am not a McCain “lover” but he certainly is the lesser of 2 evils and has my vote.

Pray for our country and our voters. I’m sick when I see people bussing HOMELESS people to the polls and telling them to vote for Obama….. (it was on the news this morning if you don’t believe me)

12

Isn’t it a little strong to say that Obama is evil? What are your arguments to support that? Inexperienced and young, yes, there’s no use arguing against that. But evil? Amoral? What have you seen that leads you to believe that?

I used to have a lot of respect for McCain, but his mud slinging tactics and his pandering choice of Palin have really tarnished that. I’m a moderate Democrat, but to be honest if he had chosen Huckabee (who I actually really like and respect) or another Republican with smarts and experience, I think I would have been satisfied no matter how this election went. McCain’s greatest strength was that was the ticket with experience and respect from both parties. Had he chosen a VP with this in common, I think that would have been great. Instead, he chose Palin, who is anything but. She is not a bad person by any means, but I think her choice as VP is an insult to Republicans, and the American people.

Let’s start a dialogue. Why don’t you like Obama? What about his plans do you disagree with it? Is it just his character, or his career, or both? Politicians have convinced us to hate each other, and to support the higher ups in our own party without question. But I believe that we should question our own party leaders even more critically than the opposition does.

I’m all ears.

Shaun, I’m all for the dialog… But, remember, I go with facts… And, with resources where information comes… Please - do the same…

Let’s start with your “mud slinging” belief that McCain is entirely more negative. According to a study by the University of Wisconsin - 77% of the Obama’s commercials were negative during the week after the Republican convention, compared to 56 percent of the spots run by McCain [1]. Could it be that you are already biased thus over looking Obama’s ads?

And, just to set the fact straight - I have not been a life long republican… I learned at an early age not to specificially go vote - party lines… Instead, I vote according to the man. Obama clearly does not have moral aptitude.

As far as Obama’s position on the issues… There are a number of reasons I’m gravely worried in regards to Obama. First and foremost is national security. Obama has openly stated what his plans for our national security include:

“* I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems.
* I will not weaponize space
* I will slow development of future combat systems
* I will set a goal of a world without nuclear weapons and to seek that goal, I will not develop nuclear weapons” [2]

And, just so it will be stated, even though Obama will not own up to the facts - the surge did work in Iraq! I ought to know - both my kids have been there and have been doing the work.

Each of the items above will weaken our nation… As a parent of two kids in the US Military… I’m not for weakening our military one bit. Instead - we must carry the big stick and not be afraid to use when and if we need to. 9/11 has more than amply proved that point.

Abortion - Obama will sign into law (actually has promised this as one of his very first acts as President) the “Freedom of Choice Act” allowing Partial-Birth Abortions and allowing underage teenagers to obtain abortions without parental approval! [3] Just to let you know - this is a real “Christian” thing to do, right? This goes right back to moral responsibility. If you do not know what partial-birth abortion is all about - I’m a registered nurse and can give you a blow by blow detail of the horrible act of premediated murder.

Economics: Barack HUSSEIN Obama will increase the capital gains taxes. Those of us old enough remember exactly Jimmy Carter’s failed exercise of this - it did not work back then… And, it certainly will not work now. [4]

Obama will enact a windfall profits tax and institute price controls on fuels (which will in all honesty drive up the cost the fuels even higher than the price of fuel is now). [5]

Okay… there is more than a good start regarding Obama on the issues… Dispute those and then I’ll be more than happy to address another five issues against Obama. I’ll say this… Obama has a lot of wrong standings on the issues… and I don’t mind talking about them at all…

This entire website is embarrassing. I am continually amazed at the ignorance of anti-Obama “Christians”. Any group that would incite hatred of a man they do not know, because he is running for political office, is an affront to this country’s existence. Chanting things like, “Kill him” and “He is the Anti-Christ” is irrational and further damages this nation’s reputation. If you have ever wondered why terrorism happens, look no further than the angry mobs at McCain/Palin events.

15

@K. Scott: Your entire comment is embarrassing. Have you read all 250+ posts on everything from website design to purchasing our townhome? You’re right… that IS embarassing!

Let’s look for the words “hate” or “hatred” in my article… hmmm. Coming up empty? Right, because I didn’t say it. You labeled me. Chanting things like “kill him?” Hmmm. Nothing there, either.

Oh, and if terrorism happens because of angry mobs at McCain/Palin events, it’s because the socialists and liberals are the terrorists, because I’m not aware of any of their supporters taking part in those activities… BILL AYERS!!! This nation’s reputation is damaged because people in our own Congress say we are an unjust nation and provide comfort to the enemies. President Lincoln would have had quite a few members of our Congress thrown in jail for treason.

I’m going to label you now: feeble-minded. Let’s see your blog and your thoughts. What’s that? You don’t have a website because you can’t put one together?

K. Scott - No one on this website is stating “kill him” or are we even stating he is the Anti-Christ… All we are talking about is the resemblance of many of his characteristics being like those of the fictional character of Nicolae Carpathia…

Above in another post.. I’ve pointed out exactly why I’m voting AGAINST Obama… If you can not come to the forum here… And, give rational and resourceful comments… It rather shows you to be one of the “obama minions” that are actually unable to think for themselves… You would rather point fingers and call names instead of providing meaningful words to the discussion… Many times in life… Those that point fingers and call names are closer to resemblance of those names you call…

17

@Terry Backs McCain: Bingo! Well said, Terry!

18

Hey Terry,

Thanks for a nicely laid out argument about Obama. As for Scott, I understand his frustration with those with different beliefs, but attacking others like that won’t solve anything. I don’t think anybody here condones mob mentality or hate slurs.

As for terrorists appearing in response to Palin’s mob, well, yeah, if that were the case it would most likely be from liberal extremists, yeah. But liberal extremists and conservative extremists are just two sides of the same coin, and any political group that spreads their ideas through violence is misguided and wrong. I won’t say “evil” because I believe that that term is thrown around way to liberally, and nobody but the occasional and rare psychopath really does anything because they are “evil.” Misguided, wrong, and completely awful, yes, but if anything their actions and the belief that what they are doing is OK stems from almost cult mentalities.

I think it’s fair to say that Al Qaeda is a cult or sorts? Or the KKK? Or the Earth Liberation Front? Groups like Al Qaeda are obviously more religion based, but they all usually recruit young people with weak, impressionable personalities and trouble identifying with the world. Something like ELF often focuses on stupid rich liberal kids who’ve never had to struggle for anything and who are desperately searching for a cause to give them meaning. Al Qaeda focuses on young, uneducated boys in the middle-east whose lives are full of violence and economic and cultural strife.

What do they have in common? They’re searching for meaning, a cause. What’s the easiest way to do that? Give them someone to hate, to demonize. For Al Qaeda it’s the west, and “unbelievers.” They’re brainwashed into thinking that everything awful in their lives and the lives of their families are OUR fault, and Israel’s fault, and whoever else the monster of the week is according to their leaders. For ELF it’s Big Companies, Big Farms, and conservatives. They don’t care about the people involved, or their livelihoods, they paint those they attack as EVIL, torturous monsters. The KKK paints liberals and minorities as EVIL, leaching, know-it all monsters. Al Qaeda paints the west as EVIL, unholy, imperialistic monsters. See? Cult brainwashing. Labeling any group as EVIL allows us not to think about things, or figure out WHY some people are that way.

Oh man, this was a complete tangent. Sorry that I’m taking so long to get back to you, Terry, I’m working and going to school full time, and it’s midterms. Ugh. But I will soon! You have a lot of valid and interesting points about Obama that I’d like to discuss. To be continued!

Shaun, I like what you wrote and do agree with parts… I mainly disagree with Al Qaeda being a cult… But, I can understand the analogy in the reference…

Both my kids are in the US Navy… My son in law, also… I have one and sometimes two of the kids deployed at the same time - it seems all the time… All three have been on land duty in Iraq and Kuwait… I’ve studied extensively to try to make sense of why Radical Islamic terrorist have done what they have… No - they are not a cult… But, again I do understand your analogy…

In reference to what Scott wrote… Regarding the chantings of “Kill him”, “He’s a terrorist” and the inciting of hatred… I’m not 100% positive… But, I do think he was saying this in reference to the Florida rally October 6th where a handful of protestors were at a political rally… I was upset when I first heard the story and I wanted to know the truth if it was the McCain protestors that did it… I had just watched the live television speech by Sarah Palin and there was no such “protest” picked up by national tv… So - I had to question where was the protest…

Come to find out - it did not happen inside at the rally - the protestors were outside the gate to the actual rally… On the Florida local news that evening - it was reported that five people outside of the gate to the rally were screaming those comments and remarks trying to incite the crowd…

Anyway… that’s the take on it… I did as much research into it because I was going to blog about it myself if it had been a large group… I do detest - ANYONE doing such things… No matter which party it was about. I’ve heard from some Florida friends - who were at the rally - there is supposedly an FBI investigation into the five individuals… But, have no proof… Just second hand info… I’ve even heard it was not McCain backers that were doing it… Since I wasn’t there… I decided not write a blog in reference to it…

Anyway - I’m looking forward to your comments regarding the issues I wrote…
Terry

I would feel more comfortable about Obama if he would just honestly answers questions about his associations with such unsavory characters such as Bill Ayers, Tony Rezko, Louis Farakahn and the Rev. Jeremiah Wright instead of dancing around the issue. He owes the voting public that much.

I wrote about this same topic this weekend - before I even knew that so many others were reaching the same conclusions or having the same thoughts!!!

Scary!!!!
